Did Kris Bernal Tell Carl Guevarra To Stop Wooing Her To Protect Her Love Team With Aljura?

KRIS BERNAL says she doesn’t want to pressure herself into thinking that “Coffee Prince” must surpass the ratings of “One True Love” that they’re replacing.

“Ako, I’m just enjoying working with Aljur Abrenica again and also the new challenge of my role in ‘Coffee Prince’,” she says. “First time ko to play a girl na nagpapanggap bilang lalaki and I really prepared for this. Pinag-aralan ko kung paano magiging convincing bilang lalaki and I think it’s paying off as Aljur and the other cast members treat me na parang lalaki nga ako, katropa nila. Parang they forgot na girl talaga ako.”

“Coffee Prince” is a welcome break for her. “Kasi ang mga ginawa ko lately, ‘Time of My Life’ and ‘Hiram na Puso’, puro heavy dramas na iyak ako ng iyak. E, this one is a romantic-comedy, so it’s much lighter. Ang drama lang dito, sa umpisa, when my father, played by Direk Ricky Davao himself, suddenly dies. Kaya akong naging breadwinner ng family namin. Pero binabali pa rin yung drama at nalalagyan ng comedy, like doon sa funeral scene na nahulog sa hukay ang mother ko, played by Tessie Tomas.”

Is it true she told boyfriend Carl Guevarra to stop seeing her for a while so that this will not affect her love team with Aljur? “Ano ba? Walang ganun. Hindi pa naman kami, swear. Kaya there’s no need for me na pagsabihan siya or anything.”
