GLAIZA DE CASTRO was on her way to Bacolod for the Masskara Festival last weekend when we bumped into her at Terminal 3 while we're on our way to Panglao Island in Bohol. She's back to playing a villain role in “Temptation of Wife” as the woman who steals Dennis Trillo from Marian Rivera. She just worked with Dennis as his leading man in “Biritera” and as support to Marian in “Amaya”.“This time, malandi talaga yung character that I play,” she says. “This is the sexiest role I’ve done so far kasi may love scenes pa with Dennis, which we didn’t do at all in ‘Biritera’.”
So how is it playing a husband snatcher? “Mahirap. Wala naman akong paghuhugutang ganoon in real life. Ni boyfriend nga, wala ako.”
She was scared doing the love scene. “Nanginig ako sa matinding kaba, maski tanungin nyo director namin, si Dominic Zapata. Buti magaling magdala si Dennis. Nagawa naman namin ng maayos.”
Glaiza waited for four months before she was given a new assignment after “Biritera”. There was even talk she wanted to change her manager. “Kasi naman nakaka-depress ang walang trabaho. Nasanay akong nagre-report lagi sa set, e. Tapos, biglang bakante, nakatengga ka lang. Kaya when I was told nasa ‘Temptation of Wife’ ako, nagpasalamat ako agad kay Lord. Kasi may binabayaran akong bahay buwan-buwan, no?”
She knows she’s just a second choice as her role was originally assigned to Alessandra de Rossi who nixed doing the love scenes with Dennis. She was then assigned to do “Haram”. What happened was she switched roles with Alex and, as luck would have it, “Haram” was shelved.
“I don’t really mind being a second choice. Ang ganda ng role at kasundo ko mga kasama ko, okay na sa’kin yun.”
