She signed up with GMA-7 more than a year ago. How’s her showbiz journey so far? “It’s a roller coaster ride but I’m enjoying it. I got so many blessings, met so many different people, tried hosting in ‘Manny Many Prizes’, acting in ‘Faithfully’ and now I’m thankful that GMA allowed me to do my first movie with Star Cinema, ‘It Takes a Man and a Woman’, ka-love triangle nina John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo, directed by Cathy Molina Garcia.”
And she has had her own share of intrigues, like being linked to Dingdong Dantes. How did she take it? “You know, I didn’t give it much thought kasi hindi naman totoo. Dedma lang. I don’t even know the details of the issue and how it started.”
It’s said Dingdong met her at the Bench pictorial and wooed her. “Bench pictorial? That was a year ago pa, ah. Since then, nagkikita kami every now and then sa ‘Party Pilipinas’, but very briefly lang. Isa pa, everyone knows I have a boyfriend, three years na kami, and he has a girlfriend, Marian Rivera, so how can that be credible. Really, I was never bothered at all by it. Like my mom says, intrigues come with the territory. Just like haters and bashers sa Twitter, if you’d react, it’ll only get worse so dedma na lang.”
She now lives on her own in a condo. How did her mom accept this? “She was so dramatic. She said, ‘When you paid your condo, I never thought you’d move out and leave me’. Kasi she’s very controlling, just like me, but she has a lot of good traits. She has so many suggestion about ‘Taste Buddies’ about what Solenn and I should cook. We’re really enjoying the show so much. Our guests sa first episode are Mikael Daez, Betong Sumaya and Rodjun Cruz.”
