Jessy Mendiola On Why She Was Turned Off By Jm De Guzman

JESSY MENDIOLA is a member of Star Magic Batch 15 launched in 2007. Born on Dec. 3, 1992 in UAR where her British-Lebanese dad was then working, she’s the second of three sisters. Her parents are separated but she maintains communication with her dad who lives abroad. She did minor roles until she was noticed in “Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo”. She was then launched in “Sabel” and paired with Gerald Anderson in “Budoy”. She now teams up with Matteo Guidicelli in the new Precious Hearts Romance series, “Paraiso”, that will replace “Pintada” on November 5.

Both of them just came from failed relationship, she from JM De Guzman and he from Maja Salvador. Is their a possibility that they might develop feelings for each other?

“You ask Matteo, not me,” she says. “As of now, we just enjoy working with each other. We shot the scenes where we’re stranded on an island in Caramoan and we got to know each other better. Masarap siyang katrabaho. A real gentleman.”

Jessy said she and JM were exclusively dating for almost a year. In showbiz parlance, that means they’re on. But when JM admitted their status in public, she didn’t like it as she wants their relationship to be quiet and private. She distanced herself from him and even changed her cellfone number but he got hold of the new one and wooed her again. “Parang nagsisimula kami uli. Mabait naman siya, e, so I’m giving him another chance. We’re now trying to settle our differences.”

In “Paraiso”, she plays Yanie, a poor girl who’s the breadwinner for her family. On her way to Romblom, the ship where she’s on board sinks and she wakes up in an island with Brennan (Matteo), a rich businessman who’s married to Megan (Jewel Mische.) While in the island, they fall for each other. When they are found and return to the city, life has become more complicated for them.

Also in the cast are Matt Evans (who didn’t attend the presscon because of the controversial news about him being jailed for beating up his live in partner) as Jessy’s childhood friend, Ahron Villaflor as Jessy’s brother, Juan Rodrigo and Vangie Pascual as Matteo’s rich parents, Ces Quesada (who’s also on GMA-7’s ‘Coffee Prince’) and Bodgie Pascua as Jessy’s poor parents, Ina Feleo, Angel Jacob, Marissa Sanchez, Guji Lorenzana, Kathleen Hermosa plus PBB recruits Paco Evangelista, Pamu Pamorada, Dione Monsanto, Wendy Tabusalla and Jessica Conelly.
