Ruru Madrid Thinks His Being Youngest In The Group Will Make Him In 'Protege'

RURU MADRID’s full name is Jose Exequiel Madrid. His parents are Bong Madrid (a former bit player) and Jackie Enriquez (an ex-model). Born on Dec. 4, 1998, he’s the eldest of three kids. He represents Zamboanga but he was actually born in Makati and grew up in Marikina. “But yung mom ko, taga-Zamboanga talaga siya.”

He finished grade school in Parang Elementary School in Marikina and is now a high school sophomore at National Christian Life College. “Puede raw ako bumalik sa klase ko after ‘Protégé’”, he says.

Managed by Director Maryo de los Reyes, he took up acting workshops with PETA in May 2011. Who does he think is his toughest rival come the finals night on Sunday? “Both Jeric and Mikoy. They’re both older than me at 20 and 18. Ako 14 pa lang. Mas experienced na sila. Advantage din ang pagiging youngest ko at mas marami kong teenage fans sa kanila.”
