SOLENN HEUSSAFF is without doubt the busiest actress-host at the moment. She has finished the comedy “Ikaw na, Da Best Ka” with Jose and Wally to be shown next month. She’s now shooting “Sosy Problems”, GMA Films’ entry to the Metro-Manila Filmfest, and she’s about to start shooting “The Seduction” for Regal with Richard Gutierrez and Sarah Lahbati. On TV, she’s hosting “Party Pilipinas”, “Eat Bulaga” and now, the new cooking and lifestyle show, “Taste Buddies”, with Isabelle Daza on GMA News TV that airs on Saturday, October 27 at 5:30 PM. Is she and Isabelle really close friends?
“Oh yes,” she says. “When I returned to Manila from Paris, she was the one who introduced me to our barkada now, sina Georgina Wilson, Anne Curtis, Raymond Gutierrez. We both live alone in a condo and after work, we have dinner together, exercise together or watch a movie.”
Does she really cook? “Yes, since I live alone, I cook for myself, usually easy ones like pasta or salad. Ganun din si Belle, then we post these on instagram and that’s how they got the idea to get me and Belle as hosts of ‘Taste Buddies’. But the show isn’t all about cooking. We have guests like Mikael Daez, Rodjun Cruz, Betong Sumaya and we talk about a lot of things, even our lovelife.”
Both she and Belle have foreigner boyfriends. “Mine is Nico, an Italian Argentinian economic analyst from Bloomberg. He’s very intelligent, with drive and ambition, unlike my past boyfriends who are bobo.”
Derek Ramsay is her ex. Is he bobo? “No, except him. Derek is matalino.”
What dishes from her should viewers watch for in “Taste Buddies”? “My dulong pasta and banana soya milk smoothies. Good for health food lovers.”
Last year, she also had a Metro filmfest entry, “Yestrday Today Tomorrow”, for which she got a best supporting actress nomination as a girl who shared a man, Dennis Trillo, with her mom, Agot Isidro. Is her role in “Sosy Problems” also as challenging? “Yes, best friends from childhood kami rito nina Heart Evangelista, Rhian Ramos and Bianca King. I’m closest to Heart but we sort of compete sa clothes and even sa guy, si Aljur Abrenica. I’m the daughter of the French ambassador and my mom is Cherie Gil. I’m a spoiled brat here. Sa ‘The Seduction’, maganda rin ang role ko. On sina Richard and Sarah but magiging stalker ako ni Richard.”
