Aimee Torres, Original Singer Of Hit 'Pusong Bato', Will Sue Composer Rene De La Rosa For Reissuing It Without Her Permission

SINGER AIMEE TORRES is best known for her 2003 single “Pusong Bato”. A former Lakambini ng Tondo, she’s managed by Vir Mateo and has appeared in some films and TV shows. But being the eldest child and only girl among the kids of Manuel and Rosalina Torres, she had to finish her college studies first and now has a degree in masscomm & public relations from Lyceum. She’s currently the project coordinator of Blessed Charles Pefaucauld Bldg. in Ermita, a venue for lectures and conferences.

Aimee is now with Star Records and her album of 10 songs,“Aimee Torres, the Original Pusong Bato” is released anew with a new cover plus minus one. The lead song is “Pusong Bato”, along with “Silang Nasa Ibayong Dagat” (tribute to OFW’s), “Nang Dahil Sa’Yo”, “Pa-Girlfriend Girlfriend Lang”, “Halina’t Sumayaw”, “Binatang Batangueno”, “Rock n Roll Pa Rin”, “Kung Wala Kayo”, “Sana Laging Birthday Mo” and a Christmas song “Sana sa Pasko”.

Aimee felt hurt when “Pusong Bato” composer Rene de la Rosa, re-recorded the song and re-issued it. “He has no right to do that as he signed a contract with us selling to us all the rights to his songs for P140,000,” she said. “He claims sa kanya ang original version at lumalabas pa ngayong akong nanggaya and it’s definitely not true. I just want to clarify na ako ang unang nag-record ng kanta kaya mine is the original version at plano kong magsampa ng kaso sa korte to prove this.”
