AMONG THOSE affected by the elimination of Anton and Armand del Rosario are Amigas Saida and Jervi, who became friends in “Eat Bulaga” where Saida used to be head dance of EB Babes and Jervi was writer-floor director. “Nalungkot kami kasi pareho silang papa,” says the beki Jervi. “Mga sexy, lagi pang nakapekpek shorts. Mas gusto namin si Armand kasi jolly, mas guapo and approachable at mas nagta-Tagalog kaysa kay Anton. Nagulat nga kami, bigla silang natanggal.”
Sounds like something happened between him and Armand? “Wala. Wala. May boyfriend ako no?”
He and Saida have BF’s who are both afams (foreigners) they met at a fancy club in The Fort. His BF is a British Merchant Marine named Luke Wrightson. He showed us the guy’s photo and he looks like a matinee idol. “He’s 6’2”, 25 years old, nag-out na siya sa parents niya about me and we’re meeting sa New Year in Hongkong. Pinadala na niya ticket ko. Six days kami roon.”
“Mas matangkad ang BF ko, 6’5”,” says Saida. “He’s a Serbian businessman naman. Dahil sa’kin, natututo siyang mag-Tagalog at natututo naman akong mag-Ingles. Alam ko na ang he, she, it.”
Jervi says he’s the designated leader and brains in our team and Saida does the physical part of their tasks. “Ako yung tagabasa ng clue. She drives, ako yung navigator.” His real name is Lisaba. “Ginawa ko na lang Li kasi when I say Lisaba, sinasagot ako ng hindi, kuto.”
Why did they resign from “Eat Bulaga”? “I just want to grow,” says Saida. “Napagod na kong sumayaw.”
“Ako rin,” says Jervi. “Wala akong mairereklamo sa ‘Bulaga’. Ang babait ng lahat. After graduation, first job ko na yun but after almost five years, I want to try other things. Up to now, tinetext nila ko na they miss me. Welcome din akong bumalik, kaya lang, move on na ko.”
Are there any other bekis among the remaining contestants in “The Amazing Race”? Instead of answering, they exchange knowing glances with each other. “Kumain na lang po kayo,” says Jervi, pushing some dishes on the table towards us.
But due to our insistence, somehow, we got to know who he has in mind. But of course, we won’t reveal here who they are. “Obserbahan nyo na lang kung sino,” says Jervi.
