Gladys Reyes Hosts New Show Aimed To Help Moms, 'Nay-1-1', With Jaya

GLADYS REYES is one lucky actress who works with all the top networks. She’s in “Enchanted Garden” on TV5. She just starred in an episode of “Maalaala Mo Kaya”. She also has a talk show “Moments” on Net 25. She now hosts “Nay-1-1” with Jaya on GMA-7 that starts airing on Monday. This show aims to help “nanays” in their everyday problems, from fixing leaking roofs and faucets to giving them a make-over to beautify them.

“We’ll be shown going to homes and barangays to answer calls for help ng mga nanay,” says Gladys. “Kundi namin kaya, we’ll ask the help of experts, from carpenters to behavioral counsellors. Meron kaming cutieboy macho assistants like JC Tiuseco, Enzo Pineda, Jeric Gonzales to assist us.”

Why were Gladys and Jaya chosen to host it? “We considered several names at nag-screen test sila for us,” says GMA exec Darling de Jesus. “Una, dapat mommies na sila at dapat may chemistry sila. Then the creative and programming teams watched all the screen tests and we decided na the best sina Gladys and Jaya, may rapport agad sila. They have good, wholesome image with regard to their family relationships sa kanilang husband and kids. Moms can relate with them at credible sila as hosts.”

Doesn’t Gladys see herself clashing with Jaya? “Malayong mangyari yun as we’re both professionals na nagkasundo agad sa first episode pa lang. Wala ng kapaan, tinginan lang, nagkakaintindihan na kami.”

What if moms would consult them about sex problems? “Wala akong problema kasi quota ako diyan sa husband kong si Christopher who’s very supportive, loving and a very good father. I really feel so blessed with him.”

They have three kids: Kristoff, 6; Akisha, 4, and Grant, 2. All of them look like future movie stars. “Inaamin ko namang mas nakuha nilang looks ng papa nila. Sabi nga, dagdagan pa raw namin kasi magandang combination namin. Pero ayoko na, caesarean lahat yan, no? Ang hirap kaya.”
