REGINE VELASQUEZ’ 25th anniversary concert, “Silver”, this Friday night at SM MOA Arena promises to be the music event of the year with spectacular production values and with Ogie Alcasid, Janno Gibbs and Lani Misalucha as guests.
For her next 25 years in showbiz, our wish for Regine is to be able to do a serious drama film that will give her a best actress award just like other singers-actresses before her: Nora Aunor, Sharon Cuneta and Zsa Zsa Padilla.
“Matagal na ko gusto igawa ng Viva ng ganyan pero takot ako, e,” she says. “I’m more comfortable with comedy.”
Maybe she should guest in Mel Tiangco’s newly revived “Magpakailanman” in a dramatic story. “They asked me na, but what they want to do is yung love story namin ni Ogie. Ayoko nga, parang weird naman. Sana ibang material na lang.”
Her son Nate turned one year old and she and hubby Ogie Alcasid hosted a Boy Pickup-themed children’s party for him at the clubhouse of Ayala Hillside where they live. They made it private and didn’t allow the media to cover it. Will Nate have a participation in her Silver anniversary concert at the MOA Arena this Friday, November 16?
“No, but he’ll be there and I’ll dedicate a segment to him. I’m sure he’ll appreciate it kasi at one year old, he knows how to hum. He hums with me. And when I sing, he looks at me. Kakatuwa. My next album will have songs dedicated to him.”
What’s Ogie’s participation in the preparation for her show? “Wala, basta guest siya. Pinapabayaan niya lang ako. Kaya ko naman daw. Sabi niya, parang relaxed na relaxed lang ako. Siempre, bakit naman kailangang tensyunin ko sarili ko? Basta we’ll give the audience a good show. After the concert, magbabakasyon kami sa Amanpulo. Treat ni Ogie sa akin.”
So that’s where they’ll manufacture their next baby? “Puede. Kasi one year old na si Nate and my doctor said puede pa talaga kong magbuntis as I took good care of my health naman. I never smoke or drink, kaya even if I had caesarean section, I was able to recover fast.”
Sponsors of “Silver” include Belo, Bench, Smart, McDo, Pacific Blue, with GMA-7 as co-producer.
