Sen. Bong Revilla Inks New Contract With Gma-7 Led For The Network'S First Salvo In 2013, 'Indio'

SEN. BONG REVILLA is obviously very special for GMA-7. Top bosses Atty. Felipe Gozon and Jimmy Duavit hosted a special lunch presscon just to announce that he has signed a new two-year contract with them. Bong admits he got offers to move to another network. “But why would I move?” he says. “Alagang-alaga naman ako dito ever since my first project with them 11 years ago in ‘Idol Ko si Kap’, then ‘Hokus Pokus’, and now, ‘Kap’s Amazing Stories’ that’s a toprater every Sunday night. No matter what happens, nandito ang puso kasi ako’y laging isang Kapuso. ”

His first project for his new contract is GMA-7’s sprawling first salvo for 2013, the epic historical-fiction, “Indio”. “This is something very big. It’ll start in 1565 and the story happens until the 1600s while we’re under Spanish rule. We’ll have magic realism with diwatas in the story and with my character, Indio, having special powers. I’m thankful to GMA na sa’kin nila ipinagkatiwala ito. Kasama sa cast sina Jennylyn Mercado, Rhian Ramos, Maxene Magalona, Sarah Lahbati, Agot Isidro, Michael de Mesa, Alden Richards at marami pang iba. Part ng kikitain ko dito sa first soap that I agreed to do will be for my foundation that gives free education to out of school youth.”

Is it true he got mad at wife Lani Mercado for doing a kissing scene in “Flames of Love”? “Hindi naman. Aktres ang asawa ko so may tiwala ako sa kanya. Everyone knows na never naman siya nagkaroon ng image na hindi disente.”

What does he think of daughter Gianna’s now being a Kapuso star? “I know she’ll be in good hands here in GMA. Nakaalalay naman lagi si Lani sa kanya. Basta we tell her not to neglect her studies at pilitin niyang makapag-college.”
