Dennis Trillo And Paulo Avelino Have A Lot Of Things In Common

DENNIS TRILLO and Paulo Avelino get to act together for the first time in the “Lost Command” episode of “Shake, Rattle & Roll 14”. “Nagkasama na kami noon sa ‘Party Pilipinas’,” says Dennis. “But we’ve never acted together kundi ngayon lang.”

They have a lot of things in common. Dennis is from Star Circle 10, Paulo is from Starstruck 4. Then Dennis moved from ABS to GMA and Paulo, vice versa. They both sing. They’re both award-winning actors. And they're both unmarried dads with sons: Calix for Dennis and Ethan for Paulo.

Is there an effort to outshine each other while they’re shooting “Shake 14”? “Magkagalit ang characters namin ni Paulo sa story. We’re both soldiers na inaatake ng zombies sa loob ng gubat. Marami kaming eksenang nag-iiringan kami, nag-aangasan, but no, walang rivalry na naganap. Ako naman, I just give what our directors ask me to do. At nasa GMA pa si Paulo, nakita ko na ang potential niya even during his Starstruck days. I know he’ll turn out to be a good actor.”

“Ako naman, wala pa ko sa showbiz, idol ko na talaga si Dennis pagdating sa acting,” says Paulo. “He definitely has much more acting awards kaysa sa’kin. Ako sa Urian lang for ‘Sayaw ng Dalawang Kaliwang Paa’. Siya, marami ng awards for both best supporting actor and best actor, kaya mataas ang respeto ko sa kanya and I’m just happy to be given the chance to work together with him.”
