Derek Ramsay'S 'Amazing Race Philippines' To End This Saturday Night

DEREK RAMSAY’S ‘The Amazing Race Philippines’ is ending tomorrow, Saturday. Instead of the usual half hour, it’ll have one-hour episodes today and tomorrow. From the original 11 teams, only 3 are now remaining: Gym Buddies Marc Dungo and Kat Tan, Celebrity Friends LJ Moreno-Alapag and CJ Jaravata, and Magbayaw Fausto Reyes and Dayal Chowdry. The last to be eliminated in the recent Palawan leg were Sheena Perez and Gee Canlas.

The finals will be held in Davao where the remaining contestants will see some action doing a motocross ride. We ask LJ and CJ what’s the most difficult thing they did in the show.

“For me, it’s eating Bicol Express as I hate spicy foods,” says LJ. “I felt like throwing up but nilunok ko na lang yung suka ko.”

“Ako yung the whole excitement ng final leg na mapapanood nyo this weekend to find out which of us would win the P2 million prize,” says CJ.

What’s their most memorable experience? LJ: “This is my second reality show after ‘Pinoy Fear Factor’ but grabe yung withdrawal ko rito. After one month, nagigising pa rin ako bigla calling CJ, ‘Sis!’, only to find out na ang katabi ko pala is my husband (cager Jimmy Alapag.) The whole race is unforgettable as it allowed us to visit a lot of beautiful places all over the country, from Mountain Province to Bicol to Boracay and Palawan. I don’t know if I’d be able to do this again in my lifetime. And I really missed being away from my husband for one month without any communication. Pagbalik ko sa kanya, I became clingy to him.”

CJ: “I auditioned three times bago ko nakuha rito. I’m a big true fan of the show, so being part of it and everything I did in it is memorable. After the race, I also had separation anxiety from LJ.”

What did they discover with each other during the race that they didn’t know before? CJ: “We grew up together as kids and we never fight, so nandun yung realization that it helped kasi we really listen to each other, we really stick together.”

LJ: “Yung trust namin sa isa’t isa, nandun talaga kaya unlike other teams, never kaming nag-away during the race.”

What will they do with P2 million? CJ: “I’m a single mom with a daughter. I’ll save it for the future of my child. I’m hoping my exposure in the show will help get me more acting assignments. I started with ABS as part Star Circle Batch 9 and I was part of ‘Pangako Sa’Yo’ and ‘Quizon Avenue’, but I went to the U.S. to do modelling. I’ve made some indie films pero sana, I can do mainstream work naman.”

LJ: “I’m now a pastry chef and I have my own cake shop. We’re also building a new house and I’ll use the money to build my dream kitchen.”
