“It’s not needed,” he says. “We support each other’s careers. It’s not an issue for us. Kahit siya, when she had love scenes with John Lloyd Cruz in ‘The Mistress’, hindi na niya kailangan pa magpaalam sa’kin. But since we’re open with each other, kinukuwento rin namin sa isa’t isa kung anong ginagawa namin sa trabaho. Malaking bagay yung wala kayong sekreto sa isa’t isa to cultivate your trust and respect with each other.”
In his love scene with Angel, is it true she’s the one who carried the scene? “Hindi naman, biruan lang namin yun kasi first time namin magkasama tapos, love scene agad. Hindi naman ako sanay sa mga ganung eksena, so sabi ko, alalayan mo ko, ha. Umokey naman siya agad kasi napansin din niyang medyo tense ako. It helped para maging more comfortable kami sa isa’t isa.”
He has his own share of dramatic scenes in the movie as Angel’s boyfriend who gets terribly jealous when she goes back to Dingdong Dantes. His line, “Minahal mo ba ako o ginawa mo lang akong panakip-butas”, is now being quoted in public. How is it working with Dingdong?
“We’ve worked before sa ‘Kimmy Dora’ and he never made me feel na big star siya sa kabilang network. He’s very humble. Bow ako sa kanya.”
