Dingdong is also happy that his new soap with Lorna Tolentino, “Pahiram ng Sandali”, is a hit. Their kissing scene is now being talked about. They’re supposed to be coming from an island when the waves become so big it toppled their boat. Dingdong as Alex saves Lorna as Janice and they kiss while still in the water. How was it?
“Okay, we’re doing it in character, which was how Direk Maryo de los Reyes motivates us. Don’t act, just do the scene while you’re in character. So hindi namin iniisip na kami yun but the characters we play in ‘Pahiram ng Sandali’.”
Dingdong wasn’t able to attend the “One More Try” presscon as he was doing taping for advanced episodes of “Pahiram” to be shown while he’s abroad with Marian. But his two leading ladies there, Angel Locsin and Angelica Panganiban, both heaped praises on him.
“First time ko to work with him and he’s a true professional and a real gentleman,” says Angel. “Sobra siyang maalaga. Even before we do a love scene, he makes sure kung comfortable ako, ready ako. After the scene, he’d ask me again kung okay lang ba ako. You can feel his concern.”
“He’s really very protective sa kapareha niya,” adds Angelica. “Sa set, maraming ibang lalaki, di maiiwasan, but he makes sure hindi ka masisilipan ng iba. At tinitiyak niya ring hindi mo mapi-feel na sumosobra na siya’t iniisahan ka. Sa mga nakaeksena ko na, siya yung pinakamagaling at maingat mag-handle ng leading lady niya.”
