ROX PUNO, the only son of Rico Puno, was introduced to us by his manager, Jeffrey Tan of Bellhaus Entertainment at the company’s 5th anniversary party. Rox is definitely a much better chip off the old block. He’s taller at 5’10”, fairer, better looking, but he talks like his dad and they have the same zany personality.
“The new macho guapito,” says Jeffrey, the son of the late Universal Records exec Bella Tan who put up Bellhaus as a tribute to his mom. Rox is already in his mid-20s and we tell him he should have joined showbiz much earlier as he looks good enough to be an artista.
“I’m more of a musician kasi,” he says. “I play the guitar. Then I finished college first, majoring in music production at St. Benilde. It’s my manager who convinced me to have a solo career. I joined my dad’s concert at Metro Bar at okay naman ang feedback. I have already cut my first solo album, to be released by next year. Four of my songs are revivals of my dad’s songs and four are original compositions of Kiko Salazar who’s Bellhaus’ resident composer and producer. I sing regularly at Aruba Metrowalk on Mondays, Blue Wave Macapagal on Tuesdays and Resorts World on Thursdays.”
Rox is the youngest child of Rico with wife Doris. Two of his elder sisters, Tosca and Erica, are now married. Erica lives in the U.S. with her husband and has given Rico his first grandson. His last sister, Doki, an architect, lives with their mom. He admits that his dad has two more kids with another woman. “Mga babae rin,” he adds. “I was in grade school when my parents split at natanggap naman naming agad as they remain friends up to now. Lumalabas pa rin kami as a family.”
Aside from Rox, Bellhaus is also managing the trio called Pretty Young Thing, composed of Ava Jugueta, Stephanie Tan and Nicole Enriquez. Ava and Steph are Starstruck recruits. They’re all pretty and very sexy, true head turners. They’re live wires on stage when they perform and their album is already out in the market.
Belhaus also manages composer Kiko Salazar, singer-host Jana Garcia and model, singer- musicians Nico, Jiad, Jason and Kristen. They also have their own recording studio at Annapolis St., Greenhills and Star Records is their major client. For inquiries about Bellhaus talents and their recording studio, call Jeffrey Tan at 724-1254.
