HOW WE WISH the list of singers-actresses who took the auditions for the revival of “Miss Saigon” were not announced right away. It’s kinda embarrassing for those who took it and were later on rejected. As of now, only Rachelle Anne Go, Frencheska Farr and Aicelle Santos (all Kapuso stars) are still in contention and they’ll have to wait for quite some time before the final choices are made by producer Cameron Mackintosh who’ll re-stage it in London next year yet.
We think it’s Rachelle Anne who has the best chance of bagging the lead role of Kim as she truly has a good set of vocal pipes. She has also experienced doing musical theatre when she played the title role in “Little Mermaid”, where she stood out. Also, she does look Asian, just perfect for the role of Kim.
