WE REMEMBER Viva launching an all-girl pop group of mestiza girls called Eurasia. Now, one of its members just won as Miss Casino Filipino 2012, Marie Loraine De Guzman, at the pageant’s Grand Coronation Night on Nov. 16 at the PAGCOR Grand Theater in Airport Casino Filipino, Parañaque City. Her entourage includes 1st runner-up Theresa Marie Fenger, 2nd runner-up Kimberly Pajares, 3rd runner-up Carinne Adrianne Ramos and 4th runner-up Syril Dane Mendoza.
De Guzman who represented Casino Filipino Hyatt bested 24 other equally beautiful grand finalists who were selected in the regional semi-finals of the nationwide beauty search. She also received the Best in Evening Gown special award.
“I am so lucky to be chosen as PAGCOR’s next ambassadress of goodwill,” she says. “I didn’t really expect to win as all the girls are beautiful and talented. This is an overwhelming experience for me.”
Born in Marikina and raised in Makati, De Guzman grew up to be a woman of many talents. She previously joined the Ms. Friendship International pageant in China where she won Best in Talent and and was 1st runner up. PAGCOR gave her a cash prize of P500,000 and will also donate P200,000 in cash to her chosen charity, the Chosen Children Village Foundation in Silang, Cavite which takes care of mentally or physically challenged children. PAGCOR’s AVP for Entertainment Bong Quintana says: “We are very happy with the outcome of this nationwide search.
