'Sisteraka' Is Number One At The Tills On Filmfest Opening Day, 'Thy Womb' At The Tail End

HERE’S THE box office earnings of the eight Metro filmfest entries on opening day last Christmas. This comes from someone connected with the Metro Manila Filmfest committee so it’s more believable than the other ones that came out. 1. Sisterakas – P39,194,312.65 2. Si Agimat, Si Enteng at si Ako – P29,393,219.10 3. One More Try – P13,160,987.40 4. Shake, Rattle & Roll 14 – P10,579,339.60 5. The Strangers – P4,902,627.00 6. El Presidente – P4,244,500.00 7. Sosy Problems – P3,036,408.75 8. Thy Womb - P908,859.40

Total first day gross of all entries – P105,420,253.50. We will so sad for Ate Guy’s “The Womb”. Imagine, it won so many awards in international film festivals and yet our movie going public is not even interested to see it and support it.
