“As far as comedy is concerned, mas angat naman talaga sila sa akin,” says Kris. “Vice starred in the topgrossing film of all time at si Ai Ai naman, maraming filmfest na rin ang topgrosser siya. Akong bunso sa kanila. Isa pa, akong kontrabida rito, silang dalawa ang mga bida. For my look here, sabi ko, dapat baguhin kaysa hitsura ko sa TV show ko or in my TV ads. My peg is Charlize Theron as the evil queen in ‘Snow White and The Huntsman’. Oscar winner siya but she agreed to play villain. Pati tawa ko rito, exaggerated laughter.”
So will someone outshine the others? “Walang ganun,” says the film’s director, Wenn Deramas. “Ingat na ingat nga ako dahil tatlo sila ritong pare-parehong reyna, may kanya-kanyang trono. At first time namin ni Kris to work together so silang tatlo, inalagaan, may kanya-kanyang highlights, walang sapawan, walang nalaglag. Lahat kami ng staff ko, gustong-gusto si Kris, ang sarap kasi katrabaho, game na game kahit anong ipagawa mo. And I know hindi ito ang magiging huling movie namin together.”
So they’ll be the number one topgrosser in the coming filmfest? “Yang ang dasal naming lahat,” says Wenn. “Alangan namang yung kalaban ang ipagdasal naming maging number one. Sasabihin ni Lord, ang plastic mo.”
“Basta in God we trust,” says Ai Ai.
Kris has the last word. “Noon 2010, number 3 ako with ‘Dalaw’. Last year, number 2 with ‘Segunda Mano’. So it’s about time na this year, mag-number naman ang entry ko, ‘Sisterakas’.”
For goodwill, Kris and Ai Ai donated P200,000 each and Vice, P100,000. This was then raffled off to the writers present at the affair. With them being so generous, we won’t be surprised if most press people are now praying that “Sisterakas” will really be the number one blockbuster in the filmfest.
