“We’re still engaged, we’re happy,” she says, showing her engagement ring to us at her launch as endorser of Lady Grace Intimates. “But we’re following the tradition in Brazil where it’s the bride’s parents who spend for the wedding and my dad is so busy now he can’t come here until the middle of this year, around June. So we have to wait for that. But even if I’m already married, tuloy pa rin ako sa showbiz as I enjoy what I’m doing.”
Does she regret resigning from “Eat Bulaga”? “I miss all the people there and I wouldn’t be where I am now if not for ‘Eat Bulaga’. But I felt I have to move on and improve my craft. Now, I’m into acting. I just did a movie, ‘My Amiga Girl’, and am shooting a new one, ‘Sketch’, for Hollywood filmmaker Ace Cruz. It’s a Christian drama, puro iyakan. I’ll also be hosting a travel show for ANC and TFC soon.”
Lady Grace has been in the undies and lingerie business since 1950 but it’s only now that they got a celebrity endorser. Why Daiana? “Because she’s sexy, confident, funny, classy, just perfect for our bras and panty shapers that slims the tummy and enhances hips and butts,” says owner Madame Grace. “Her beauty is timeless just like our mom, Amelia, who started the business in the 50s with just one sewing machine.”
