JAY MANALO doesn’t mind supporting Richard Gutierrez, son of his manager Annabelle Rama, in “Seduction”, Regal’s first offering in 2013 that opens today in theatres nationwide. Unlike before when he did a lot of disrobing in the sexy flicks he did, he now plays Richard’s best friend. Both of them are firemen.
“Bombero ako rito, pero hindi yung sa bomba films, huh,” he jokes. “Nag-training kami rito ni Chard with actual firemen for two days para maging credible kami in our roles. We even joined them in an operation sa isang sunog sa Fairview. Mahirap ang work nila.”
The film’s director, Peque Gallaga, says he has the makings of an Eddie Garcia who can do both lead and support roles with ease. “Coming from him, it’s an honor, thank you. Sana nga, magkatotoo dahil I really want to last long in this business.”
Doesn’t he miss doing sexy roles? “I’d like to think graduate na ko sa paghuhubad. Ibigay na lang yan sa mga mas bata, kamukha ni Chard. Talagang umuusok ang love scene nila dito ni Solenn Heussaff. Kasing init ng mga eksena ng sunog sa ‘Seduction’.”
