“Maja asked permission from me that she’ll go to Bicol for her cousin’s bridal shower at nandun si Gerald,” says Kim. “I told her no need magpaalam kasi wala na naman kami ni Gerald, three years na. For me, I’m happy for them. There’s nothing wrong with it as both of them are single. Let’s just be happy for the both of them.”
She added she’s tired of the press’ endless questions about Gerald. “Nakakapagod na, Kasi tanong kayo ng tanong about Gerald, e ang dami niya na pong dinaanang ibang babae, di ba? I’m not the only one. Why don’t you ask the opinion of the other girls? There are many of them.” After her Gerald was linked to Bea Alonzo, Sarah Geronimo and non-showbiz girls. “You keep on asking me, if I’m okay, if I’m doing fine. Of course, I’m doing fine. I’ve let go a long time ago.”
But she contradicted herself. “Nakakalungkot lang na yung friendship namin (her and Maja’s), nasayang. I’m not being bitter over whatever is happening between them. Nagulat lang ako, nabigla. Hindi ko ine-expect na mangyayari itong ganito. ’Di ba, parang… bakit? Parang nalungkot lang ako kasi yung taong sinabihan ko nung time na down ako (Maja), parang kinain niya lang yung sinabi niya.”
They were civil with each other at the presscon but after this statement of Kim, we’re sure their relationship will be strained. The roles they play in “Ina Kapatid Anak” are at odds with each other. For all we know, this real life gap between them will help them become more effective in portraying their respective roles.
“Pero ang higit na makikinabang diyan,” says one writer, “si Gerald. Sobrang pogi niya. Irresistible to girls, pinag-aagawan.”
But Kim should be happy as she now has her new partner, Xian Lim. “Hindi naman nanliligaw sa kanya,” says one writer. “Hanggang love team lang sila.”
