Sarah plays a short role in “Indio” but it’s definitely a “markado” one. She plays a diwata who falls in love with a mortal (Luis Alandy). When the Spaniards conquered our country, Luis was killed fighting them. Sarah, who has special powers as a diwata, tries to avenge the death of Luis and and has several sword fight scenes with the conquistadores. In all fairness, she’s very good. And looks so beautiful on screen. Before she dies, she transfers all her superpowers to her infant son so the boy can already lift heavy objects, walk and run even if he’s just a few months old.
“Indio”, that starts airing tomorrow replacing “Aso ni San Roque” after “24 Oras”, is obviously a very special project for GMA-7 as they left no stone unturned to make the production values superlative, from the costumes and sets to spectacular special effects showing sea monsters lurking in the waters and Rhian Ramos as the chief Diwata being transformed to a soaring CGI eagle.
Sen. Bong didn’t appear yet in the episodes shown to the press but he’s very pleased with the whole thing. He was just shown in the trailers of future episodes engaged in fight scenes where he makes use of his super human strength. He himself feels bad about what happened to GMA and Sarah.
“I really wish maayos na yung problema nila,” he says. “Hindi naman maaapektuhan nito ang aming show but ayoko nung may nag-aaway. Kung puede nga lang akong mag-mediate para magkasundo sila at magkapatawaran. Gusto ko talagang maayos ito kasi sayang si Sarah, magaling na artista. Nakita nyo naman, maganda ang role niya at nagampanan niya nang maayos.”
What’s sad about it is that some folks say Sarah became like this after she became Richard Gutierrez’ girlfriend. We’re sure this is unfair for Richard and we just hope all its negative repercussions won’t negatively affect the box office take of their film, “Seduction”.
