Starstruck 1 Runnerup Yasmien Kurdi Now Married And A New Mom

NOW WE KNOW why Yasmien Kurdi has chosen to fade away from showbiz. She’s the runner up to Jennylyn Mercado in the very first Starstruck and GMA gave her lead roles in soaps where she was paired with JC De Vera, like “Pasan Ko ang Daigdig” and “Babangon Ako’t Dudurugin Kita”.

They rated well, but then she chose to lie low.

Her reason then was because she wants to finish her nursing course, but it turns out she’s now married and has already given birth by caesarean section to a baby girl named Ayesha Zara. She’s turning 24 on January 25 and she considers her baby the best birthday gift for her ever.

She revealed in “Startalk” that she was married to her husband, a flight attendant named Rey Soldevilla, in civil rites in January of 2012 yet. She says they’ve been going steady for six years now. Everything was hush hush as her mom was against the guy and didn’t even attend their wedding.

She intends to go back to showbiz but would have to lose first the weight she gained during her pregnancy. It’ll be recalled that Katrina Halili is in the same Starstruck batch as Yasmien. Now, they’re both young moms, but unlike Yasmien, Katrina has yet to tie the knot with the dad of her child.
