Mikael Daez Denies Being On With Megan Young

MIKAEL DAEZ feels sad that “Sana ay Ikaw na Nga” will end this week. “We just shot the finale in Baguio last week and I assure the viewers it’ll be a satisfying and enjoyable conclusion to the serial that they followed for 23 weeks,” he says. “I’d like to thank all our loyal followers who made us number one in the afternoon block. Dapat, 13 weeks lang kami but na-extend for 10 more weeks dahil nagustuhan nila ang aming show. I will never forget my role here as Carlos Miguel kasi yun na ang tawag sa’kin ng mga tao. The response to the show is really very overwhelming. But it’s not I alone who can take credit for that but the whole cast and everyone else involved in the production. Tulong-tulong kami lahat mapaganda ang show.”

So he’s now very close to his partner, Andrea Torres? “We’re all very close na to each other, lahat kami sa cast. Kami ni Andrea, good friends na talaga.”

How come he never tried to woo her off cam? Is it because he’s actually on with Megan Young, who’s been linked to him for sometime now? “Megan is just a friend also. Single ako ngayon, honest. And I enjoy being single. I’m now so devoted to my career, more than anything else.”

So what’s next for him after “Sana ay Ikaw na Nga”? “Sabi, may kasunod na raw, but until nag-story con na kami and nag-start ng taping, dun pa lang ako maniniwala.”

Now that he has played a lead role, will he still accept supporting ones? “It’s all up to my manager, Jonas Gaffud, and GMA Artist Center. Pag sinabi nilang okay pa rin ako mag-support, then I’d do it.”

How come the last two fingers on his left hand are in bandage? “Accident sa basketball. I thought it’s not that bad, but the x-ray showed nabali yung buto sa loob. It’ll take time to heal so hindi muna ko puede mag-basketball.”
