“I was shocked when I was informed I’d be joining the show,” he says. “Sa ‘Protege’ kasi, I said crush ko si Barbie tapos, heto, bigla akong isinali sa show nila. Hindi pa ko naniwala noong una. Nang mag-taping na ako, hiyang-hiya ako sa kanila, but si Derrick, okay siya, makulit agad sa’kin so na-relaxed naman ako. Si Barbie, mahinhin talaga, but now friends na rin kami.”
How does he take the intrigues in showbiz? “My manager, Direk Maryo de los Reyes, warned me about it. Naintriga agad kami ni Jeric Gonzales. Siya raw ang winner sa ‘Protege’ pero naunahan ko pang magka-show. E, nabigyan din naman sila ni Thea Tolentino, the female winner, ng show, ‘Teen Gen’. After ‘Paroa’ ends, isasali rin daw ako roon at si Derrick and Mikoy Morales.”
He’s about to shoot a movie, “Above the Clouds”, directed by Pepe Diokno who’s “Enkwentro” won at the Venice Filmfest two years ago. “It’ll start shooting at Mt. Pulag on March 7. One month daw kami roon.”
