VALEEN MONTENEGRO is happy that she moved from ABS-CBN to TV5. “I’m now seen daily at 5 PM on ‘Jeepney Jackpot’ with Mr. Fu and also in the gag show, ‘Loko Moko U’, so I can’t complain,” she says. We remember she also hosted “Artista Academy” with Cesar Montano as the main host and they were even linked to each other. “That’s not true. Nakakahiya nga sa kanya. Buti na lang at namatay agad ang tsismis na yun kasi di talaga totoo. I have a non-showbiz boyfriend, a gym instructor who helps me train and work out.”
Valeen admits she’s at first nervous hosting “Jeepney Jackpot”, the latest game show of TV5 now making waves. “Kasi si Mr. Fu sanay na sanay na sa hosting compared to me. But he proved to very supportive at nabuo agad ang teamwork namin.”
They go to various barangays to look for their contestants. The six chosen ones get inside the jeepney to play. A contestant is eliminated in each ground and the one who remains wins P50,000. Each eliminated contestant gets P1,000. Despite her busy sked, Valeen is now on her last year in college, majoring fashion design and merchandising at the College of St. Benilde.
