ANGELIKA DE LA Cruz admits she felt reluctant to accept the role of Louise de los Reyes and Lauren Young’s mom in “Mundo Mo’y Akin”. “Kasi hindi naman masyadong nagkakalayo ang mga edad namin,” she says. “Si Louise talaga ang anak ko, but she’s born ugly so pagpapalitin ko sila ni Lauren who’s the child of our housemaid Sunshine Dizon. Si Lauren ang papalakihin ko as my child. Sabi ko, di ba weird na akong nanay nila. But the staff told me they really want someone young in the role of the ugly Rodora who’d get rich, magpaparetoke and become Giselle. May challenge talaga yung role kasi may big transformation, so tinanggap ko na. Sa pangit scenes ko, three hours bago matapos ilagay ang prosthetic make up sa’kin. Something new for me. Even my own son, hindi ako nakilala. Ngayon, enjoy na ko doing my role.”
