DIRECTOR ANDOY RANAY wants to clarify that he’s not shooting a remake of the late Danny Zialcita’s “Nagalit ang Buwan sa Haba ng Gabi”. “The story is more just like inspired by the original movie and I think pati title, babaguhin din yata ng Viva,” he says. The original cast included the late Dindo Fernando, with Laurice Guillen, Gloria Diaz and Liza Lorena as the women in his life, Janice de Belen as the daughter. This time, the cast includes Gabby Concepcion, Dina Bonnevie, Alice Dixson, Cristine Reyes and with Andi Eigenmann as the daughter, plus Jake Cuenca and newcomer Anton Revilla.
This will be Andoy’s second directorial job after his controversial work in “Sosy Problems” with GMA Films that was an entry in the Metro-Manila Filmfest and where he chose that his name not be put on the credits. On TV, he’s also back with a new soap after “One True Love” which he says is flavoured more like a Koreanovela.
This time, for total change, Mexicanovela naman ang ‘Mundo Mo’y Akin’, na reunion ng ‘One True Love’ love team nina Alden Richards and Louise de los Reyes and starts airing tomorrow on GMA at primetime. This is over the top drama with sampalan and ngudnguran galore. Bawat episode, may pasabog and I’m lucky I have a very good cast led by Sunshine Dizon and Angelika de la Cruz, Jolina Magdangal and Jaclyn Jose, down to the younger members of the cast. Lahat sila, puro mahuhusay at kayang-kayang gawin kahit anong ipagawa ko sa kanila. Kwelang-kwela rito si Angelika. Magkaibigang pangit sila ni Sunshine, pero siya yung mas pangit na lumalaban talaga kahit sa mga lalaki kapag nilalait sila. Pero eventually, gaganda siya at abangan nyo yung transformation niya. Ito ang soap na magbibigay pag-asa sa lahat ng mga pangit.”
