Jolina Magdangal on what she discovers with hubby Mark Escueta after they wed

JOLINA MAGDANGAL doesn’t mind playing Alden Richard’s stepmom in “Mundo Mo’y Akin” that will replace “Pahiram ng Sandali” starting March 18 on GMA-7. “Maganda ang back story ng character ko, si Aida,” she says. “Ako ang tunay na may ari ng kayamanan ng family namin, but I was cheated by Jaclyn Jose and her son, Gabby Eigenmann. Na-in love ako sa isang driver at iniwan nito sa’kin ang anak niya, na lumaki ngang si Alden. He’s treated as an outsider in the family, lalo’t nagkagusto siya kay Lauren Young, na anak ni Gabby and Angelika de la Cruz. But it’ll be revealed later na si Lauren, anak lang ng katulong na si Sunshine Dizon sa isang Amerikano at si Louise de los Reyes talaga ang tunay na anak nina Angelika at Gabby pero inaapi-api nila.”

At the show’s presscon, Jolina’s hubby, River Maya’s Mark Escueta, just patiently waited for her in the distance. “Malayo ito sa ibang guys na boyfriend pala ng artista, umeeksena na sa mga presscon at nagpapa-interview pa,” says one newshen.

So how’s married life? “Masaya,” says Jolens. “We just celebrated our first anniversary. Nag-honeymoon kami in various Asian countries. We have bought our own lot in Quezon City, patatayuan pa lang namin ng bahay. We still live with his parents in Paranaque na mga napakabait naman.”
So what has she discovered about Mark that she didn’t know before? “Our first year together, adjustment period pa rin and we’ve learned to adjust to one another. He gets so worried pag nai-stress ako sa work, like when I was a mentor in ‘Protegee’ or while hosting ‘Personalan’ na masyado akong naaapektuhan. Now he understands na ganun lang talaga ako, masyadong intense pagdating sa work, but it’s not serious. Ako naman, I’ve learned to give him space. He’s very quiet. E, madaldal naman ako, e. Pag tumahimik na siya, hinahayaan ko na lang muna siya.”
When do they intend to have a baby? “Gusto muna naming ipatayo yung sarili naming bahay before we start a family.”
