Lets say a prayer for the repose of the soul of Subas Herrero

LET’S ALL say a prayer for the repose of the soul of actor Subas Herrero who passed on March 15 in New York due to pneumonia. He would have been 70 on April 3. His real name is Ricardo Wright Herrero, of American-Mexican descent.

He first appeared in Repertory stage plays then did two films with the late Ishmael Bernal, “Pagdating sa Dulo” and “Daluyong” in 1971. He did kontrabida roles in the action movies of Joseph Estrada, Ramon Revilla Sr. and the late FPJ and Rudy Fernandez, and in the comedies of the late Dolphy and Chiquito. He also did several movies with Ate Guy like “Super Gee”, “Impossible Dream”, “Bakekang”, “Pacita M” and “T-Bird at Ako”.

On TV, he did “Baltic & Company” for GMA-7 in 1974 and the long running “Champoy” which he did in tandem with Noel Trinidad on RPN 9 in 1980 that aired for five years. He retired in 2000 after he had a stroke. He left his wife Maripaz and five children. Our condolences to his family.
