Senator Bong Revilla enjoyed his trip to Davao for the Araw ng Davao. “Iba kasi ang ngiti ng mga Dabawenyos,” he says. “I really miss the warmth and friendliness of the people there.”
He was in Davao last Saturday for the 76th celebration of the Araw ng Dabaw. “I have joined the Araw ng Dabaw more than once at talagang napakasaya ng festival na ito. In fact, talagang sinusubukan kong makadalo rito taun-taon.”
Bong was with his co-stars from GMA-7’s epicserye “ Indio ”: Jennylyn Mercado, Rhian Ramos, Ehra Madrigal, and Sam Pinto. They joined the parade and Kapuso Mall Show at Gaisano Mall. He’s in high spirits because of the huge success of “Indio” all over the country.
“Sulit ang lahat ng paghihirap ng cast at bumubuo nito sa likod ng kamera dahil sa taas ng ratings namin gabi-gabi. Natupad ’yung dream kong magkaroon ng isang malaking teleserye. Gaya nga ng sabi ko dati, I’m not getting any younger kaya hanggang kaya pa, gawin natin.”
Even the acting is praised by viewers. “Acting vehicles talaga ang roles namin. Hindi siya basta action o fantasy lang. It’s more on the story, talagang ma-puso. Napasabak nga ako sa maraming breakdown scenes na naluha talaga ako. Talagang di bibitaw ang viewer sa ganda ng takbo ng istorya.”
What can he say about his son Jolo’s reported romance with Jodi Sta. Maria? “Walang tutol sa family namin. We love Jodi at botong-boto kami sa kanya. We just hope and pray na maayos muna ang lahat sa kanilang dalawa para walang maging problema. She’s very much welcome to our family.”
