So how’s married life? “Very happy. Masarap. I feel so blessed. My husband, Timothy, is also my best friend, my brother, my confidante. He’s really God sent as he came at a point in my life when I really needed someone like him. Napakabait niya, pati ang in laws ko na mahal na mahal ang mga anak namin. I really couldn’t ask for more.”
She now lives with her family in Guagua, Pampanga. “Balikan ako roon tuwing may taping dito sa Manila. Sanay na ko sa hanging probinsiya. Pag narito ko sa Manila, inuubo ko.”
It’s good her husband allowed her to return to acting. “He’s very supportive. Four years pa ang last show ko, ‘All About Eve’, so na-miss ko rin ang acting. ‘Mundo Mo’y Akin’ is a good project at parehong maganda ang roles namin ni Angelika de la Cruz.”
Is it true they had a tiff when they did the original “Ikaw Lang ang Mamahalin”? “No, nagtataka nga ako sa write-ups na nag-away raw kami. We just had a falling out kasi hindi na kami nagkita. She got married and I got married and we lost communication. But when we saw each other again sa taping, okay kami.”
So she doesn’t mind playing mom to Louise de los Reyes in “Mundo Mo’y Akin”? “Not at all. E sa ‘Bakekang’ nga, nanay na rin ako ni Lovi Poe, di ba? Dito, pinapangit din ako, but the process of finding the right make up to make me ugly, mas matagal kasi kailangang ilayo namin sa hitsura ni Bakekang. But once we found the right ugly look for me, mas madali na kasi ang quality ng prosthetics ngayon, much better na at mas madaling ilagay at tanggalin unlike before.”
It’s her first time to work with Direk Andoy Ranay in a soap. “Nakakatuwa siya. Masayang kasama sa set.”
Does she intend to have another child soon? “I already have a daughter, Dorinne Isabel, who’s turning 2 this April and a son, Anton, who’s turning 1 in June, so stop muna. Isa pa, caesarean kasi ako so my doctor told me to let 4 or 5 years before I get pregnant again.”
