Boy Abunda Goes To Mindanao To Help Typhoon Victims With His Foundation

BOY ABUNDA and his Make Your Nanay Proud (MYNP) Foundation personally went to Mindanao to visit the first MYNP classrooms they’re having constructed at Brgy. San Isidro in Trento, Agusan del Sur. Several months after Typhoon Pablo hit them, the residents of Compostela Valley, Davao Oriental and Agusan del Sur are still reeling from the calamity. While the government continues to help these communities, there is still much work to do.

The MYNP donation was in response to the urgent need of the community for new school buildings after the typhoon destroyed what they had. Boy was accompanied by MYNP Secretary General Gasper Gozo and Program Director Carlos Munda. They were met by Governor Bong Plaza, Trento Mayor Johnmark Billanes, and other provincial, town and Dept Ed officials. Aside from the MYNP classrooms, MYNP also donated P100,000 as financial assistance to the barangay women’s organization. The money is intended for use in livelihood projects of mothers.

After a brief stay for lunch, Boy and the MYNP delegation proceeded to the provincial capitol of Compostela Valley to turnover 1,000 relief packs from the Dept. of Social Welfare and Development and Sen. Loren Legarda. Gov. Arturo Uy was on hand to personally accept the donation. Before leaving, MYNP donated another P100,000 to the Compostela Valley relief fund for Pablo victims. Boy also committed to Gov. Uy that the foundation will provide MYNP classrooms for the province. To help, please call MYNP at 0922-2664387.
