This Friday, ultimate budget-friendly travel show Biyahe ni Drew takes viewers to one of the world’s best beaches – Boracay!
Host Drew Arellano unmasks different facets of Boracay depending on the traveler’s budget. There are several ways to reach the world-famous white beach island. But for this episode, Drew takes the direct flight from Manila to Kalibo, then a two-hour land travel from Kalibo to Caticlan. Although the travel is a little longer, this route is more pocket friendly. Plus, travelers can get to see the beautiful scenery of the Aklan countryside.
To make the Boracay trip more memorable, tourists can try horseback riding for only P700 per hour. They can also opt for the more extreme ATV tour for P3,500 per hour, which takes travellers around the island plus a chance to see the breathtaking view from Boracay’s highest peak!
For Biyahero Run, Drew will run from Station 1 to Station 3. And who better to accompany him than former Survivor castaway-turned-Boracay boy Kiko Rustia?! Since he knows the island by heart, Kiko tours Drew in the island and even brings him to his favorite bulaluhan where one can have a bowl for only a little over 100 pesos.
Biyahe ni Drew also checks out most of the restaurants and eateries in the island. From Chori burger, seafoods, to sizzling beef steak, name it and the island has it! But one of the most unforgettable moments for Drew is his dining experience while watching fire dancers perform along the beach. It is an eat-all you can dinner for only 200 pesos!
To cool down some adrenalin, Drew and Kiko try something unique offered in the island – “mermaiding lessons”!
Enjoy Boracay on a different view in Biyahe ni Drew this Friday, 10 pm, on GMA News TV Channel 11. Also, don't miss "Mankind: The Story of All of Us" tonight with an interesting episode called "Treasures" .In the Andes, the Spanish open up the largest silver mine in the world – and mint millions of pesos de ocho (pieces of eight). These coins transform the global economy. They fill the treasure chests of pirates. They fuel a stock market boom. They help pay for the Taj Mahal.
As trade booms, millions of people are brought to the New World as slaves. This leads one woman – a warrior queen in Africa – into a desperate struggle for her kingdom and her people.
Narrated in Filipino by Jay Taruc, “Mankind: The Story of All of Us: Treasures” airs this Friday, April 12 at 8PM on GMA News TV Channel 11.
