EULA CABALLERO is thankful to Gabby Concepcion and Eula Valdes for agreeing to support her and play her parents in “Cassandra Warrior Angel”. “This is my biggest assignment since I won in TV5’s Star Factor as it’s a daily show where I play the title role no less,” she says. “Continuation ito ng ‘Third Eye’ ko before, which was shown then on Sundays. ‘Cassandra’ will show my origins as a Warrior Angel.”
The show’s production unit head, Edlyn Tanada, says the story will start with a war in heaven where fallen angels are banished by St. Michael de Archangel (Romano Vasquez). The twin angels, Azrael and Uriel (both played by Gabby Concepcion), are sent down to earth. Azrael sides with evil forces while Uriel remains good, returns to God, but marries a mortal babaylan (Eula Valdes). They have three kids who also have super powers: Alwyn Uytingco as the night crawler, Eula as the warrior angel and new 8-year old child discovery Josh Stangeland (Norwegian-Filipino), an aikido expert with super strength.
Eula has three leading men: JC De Vera as the Angel Gabriel who becomes her protector, Victor Silayan as her missing boyfriend Adrian, and Albie Casino as a seminarian who gets involved with her. The twist in the story is that Eula Valdes will be kidnapped by the evil malignos and sides with them. “The show is hard to do kasi puro big scenes,” adds Edlyn. “Maraming blue screen special effects, like yung scenes sa heaven na puro CGI. Then sa costumes and prosthetics pa lang ng lahat ng characters, mahabang proceso na. Paulit-ulit ang designs hanggang ma-approve ng lahat. May scene kami with 100 extras as maligno na naka-costume and prosthetics ang lahat.”
“It’s really hard to do because of the action scenes,” says Eula. “I have to lose weight and keep fit. We also trained in muay thai and in doing scenes na naka-harness kami to fly.”
Someone quips there’s no doubt now that she’s TV5’s number one contract star. She stars in her own show playing the title role no less, unlike her rival Ritz Azul who’s just leading lady to Derek Ramsay in “Kidlat”. “Naku, ayan na naman, pinag-aaway na naman kami ni Ritz. We’re good friends kaya sana, wala na lang intriga. Pareho naman kaming inaalagaan ng TV5.”
