LEXI FERNANDEZ plays another villain role in “Kakambal ni Eliana”. “Hindi naman ako demanding na bigyan ako ng lead role,” she says. “I know GMA knows what’s best for me. I trust them. Basta ang mahalaga, hindi ako nawawalan ng trabaho at tuloy-tuloy lang. Nagkontra na ko kay Barbie Forteza in ‘Nita Negrita’, kay Bea Binene in ‘Alice Bungisngis’ and now, kay Kim Rodriguez naman dito sa ‘Eliana’. Happy akong makatulong sa kanila.”
What’s nice about this daughter of Maritoni Fernandez is she’s very down to earth. Unlike other young stars who are fond of signature clothes and things, she’s very candid in admitting that she shops for her needs only in reasonably priced “tiyangges” like in Divisoria and Greenhills. “Hindi ako conscious about brand names,” she says. “Even before I joined showbiz, may mga suki na kong kinukunan ko ng mga gamit, even shoes and bags. I’ve always been practical kasi, for instance, yung P10,000 or P20,000 you’d spend for just one outfit, bag or pair of shoes na brand name, ang dami ng mabibili noon sa mga tiyangge. Sa hirap ng buhay ngayon, you have to spend your money wisely. My mom helps me save my earnings for the future.”
In “Kakambal ni Eliana”, she plays the daughter of Jomari Yllana and Sherilyn Tan who maltreats title-roler Kim Rodriguez. What she doesn’t know is that they’re half sisters since Kim is also the daughter of Jomari with Jean Garcia.
“Sobrang sama ko rito kay Kim kasi on kami ni Enzo Pineda but when Enzo meets her, nabuhos ang loob sa kanya so nagselos ako nang husto,” she says.
