SINCE BOTH Marian Rivera and Popoy Caritativo won’t reveal the real reason why they parted ways, various speculations have come up. Someone says Popoy restrained Marian in her desire to marry boyfriend Dingdong Dantes soon as this would negatively affect her career, so she decided to leave him. Another source says Marian is no longer happy because she lost all her TV commercials to other actresses. It’s said Popoy is charging advertisers a very high talent fee, so they decided not to get her anymore and got other stars instead of her.
Still another rumor is that TV5 has an offer to Marian after her contract with GMA-7 expires this coming August. The amount involved is no less than P100 million. Her current manager Tony Tuviera’s son, Mike, has earlier moved to TV5 to direct Derek Ramsay in “Kidlat”, so it’s not surprising if they’re enticing Marian to join them at the Kapatid network.
