“I’m really trying my best to learn to speak Tagalog fluently so I won’t be playing balikbayan characters all the time,” he says. “I’m really thankful to TV5 for giving me one show after another, para mas mahasa ang Tagalog ko.”
He refused to comment when asked about the sad experience of his ex-GF Heart Evangelista’s current beau, Sen. Chiz Escudero, with Heart’s parents. “Wala na akong masasabi diyan. I think they would know how to handle the situation by themselves.”
How about the rumored romance between him and Kris Aquino? “I’m really surprised may nagsusulat pa rin about that. It’s not true. I haven’t seen her for some time. It only started when I guested in her show then they got me to guest also in the movie ‘Sisterakas’. After that, wala na, di na kami nagkita so hindi ko alam kunsaan nanggagaling yang ganyang story. I’m really busy now kasi aside from acting, I’m playing professional football as a member of the Sta. Lucia Stallions for the United Football League.”
He’s paired with Megan Young in “Misibis Bay”. “First time ko to work with her, we get along fine. But later on, something will happen and I’ll be drawn to Ritz Azul who’s actually my stepmother dahil married siya to my dad, Christopher de Leon. My two younger brothers, Victor Silayan and Vin Abrenica, will also fall for her so we’ll all be rivals.”
