EULA CABALLERO is understandably nervous as her first title-role daily series, “Cassandra: Warrior Angel”, will premiere tonight on TV5 replacing “Kidlat”. “I’m praying so hard kay Lord na sana naman ay maraming manood at nang maging mataas ang rating ng show namin sa pagsisimula nito,” she says.
The show is really big as it has no less than 3 directors: Eric Quizon, Argel Joseph and Benedict Mique. “Marami kasing malalaking eksena involving cast of hundreds, plus scenes involving CGI and special effects, so we got three directors no less to handle them kasi matrabaho talaga gawin,” says Edlyn Abuel, production unit manager of “Cassandra”. “Pinapanood namin ang first episode sa isang focus group or test audience consisting of mothers, fathers and kids. They gave the show a high grade of 9. Gusto nila yung story that focuses on a family, Gabby Concepcion and Eula Valdes as mom and dad, na nagkahiwa-hiwalay with their three kids dahil sa war between good and evil. Lahat sila, gusto malaman how the family members will find each other again.”
Eula C is aware that she’s carrying the show on her shoulders. It’s bigger than any other show she has done before like “Bagets”, “Sisters”, “Luv Crazy”, “Nandito Ako”, “Sa Ngalan ng Ina” and “Third Eye”. “It’s a big responsibility entrusted to me kaya naman I’m doing my best para hindi ako mapahiya sa pagtitiwala nila sa akin. Nakaka-pressure talaga but I welcome the challenge.”
Among her three leading men, she’s now being linked to Albie Casino, who Andi Eigenmann claims to be the dad of her love child, and not to JC De Vera or Victor Silayan. What’s the real score between them? “We’re just good friends, along with JC and Victor as co-workers in the show. But no romantic involvement. Trabaho na lang muna.”
“Cassandra: Warrior Angel” will have a primer, “Anghel at Maligno: Mga Tunay na Kuwento sa Mundo ni Cassandra”, to be shown tonight, Sunday, after “Talentadong Pinoy”, hosted by Gabby Concepcion. The regular series starts airing tomorrow night after “Aksyon”.
