JC DE VERA is glad to support Eula Caballero in her first title role telefantasya, “Cassandra: Warrior Angel”. “Okay naman si Eula,” he says. “I believe she has great potential so I hope mag-hit itong ‘Cassandra’.”
So what’s happening to his career? His last big soap was “Valiente”. “Okay naman. After’ Valiente’ sinama ko sa “Enchanted Garden” and now, ‘Cassandra.’ I also do comedy sa ‘Lokomoko U’. So hindi naman ako totally nababakante.”
His contract with TV5 has expired but he’s taking his time before renewing it. It appears to us that he’s also waiting for his contract with Annabelle Rama as manager to expire this month before he makes a decision. “Sa ‘Cassandra’, wala na kong contract sa TV5 but I accepted it kasi they’ve been good to me naman. Priority ko pa rin to stay here but I also want to grow as an actor. 27 na ko. I help sa bahay namin, I invest in other businesses, baka in a few more years, pag 30 na ko, I might make important decisions and start my own family, so I want to prepare for that well. Matanda ng parents ko, gusto ko rin sila bigyan ng apo.”
Does he have anyone in mind to be his new manager? “Wala. Di ko naman sinasabing aalis na ako kay Tita Annabelle. Kaya lang, matagal na kaming hindi nagkakausap kasi busy siya sa campaign in Cebu. The last time was several weeks ago when I went there to help her campaign. I really wish she’d win.”
In “Cassandra”, he plays the blind Gabriel, the mentor of Eula who’ll teach her how to fight the evil forces led by the dark angel played by Gabby Concepcion. “Mahirap yung role. I have to wear white contact lenses and when I have them on, wala talaga akong nakikita. Bulag talaga.”
It’ll be revealed later that JC is really the archangel Gabriel who’s sent by heaven to help Eula in fighting the malignos.
