“Pero magpapapayat muna ako,” he says. “I gained weight, 15 lbs., during the 45-day campaign period kasi kahit saan ako magpunta, they ask me to eat at hindi ko naman matanggihan at baka sumama loob sa’kin ng hosts ko. But now, back to the gym and dieting na ako. My last soap was ‘Lorenzo’s Time’ last year pa. Nami-miss ko talaga ang acting kasi ito ang first love ko.”
He wants to thank all his showbiz friends who joined him in his campaign rallies. “Una na si Diana Zubiri kasi maraming beses siyang nakasama sa’kin. Then sina Dingdong Dantes, Marian Rivera, Katrina Halili, Pauleen Luna, Blanco at Mike Nacua. And of course, my wife, Yasmine, na madalas magpakamalan ng tao as Marian na ninang ng panganay namin.”
He’s particularly happy that despite efforts of his political foes to ruin him, he still emerged as number one in the race and won by landslide. “Siguro natuwa sila sa naging paglilingkod ko in my three years as a councilor. Kaya naman ipinapangako kong as a congressman, mas pagbubutihin ko ang serbisyo ko to all my constituents.”
