CLASSES HAVE started anew so the theme of “Mars” this is “Back to School”. Today, they will discuss the ups and downs of going to public school. Majority of students go to public schools since it’s much cheaper than when you enrol in private schools. But is it true that low-salaried public school teachers force their students to buy goodies from them during classes? Are the facilities in public schools really below par compared to private schools, with students overcrowded in one class? Veteran stars Ernie Garcia and Racquel Montesa join hosts Camille Prats and Suzi Entrata Abrera in probing these issues, along with an official representative from the Dept. of Education. Racquel then demonstrates a simplied version of cooking the famous paella. Then everyone tries to de-stress themselves by doing the Ananda Marga Yoga.
For tomorrow, Friday, “Mars” will dwell on the separation anxiety experienced by new students when they get separated from their doting parents on the first day of school. Valerie Concepcion, a single mom, shares her own experiences on the matter, along with a professional psychologist. Valerie, now balik-GMA as she’s a mainstay in “Anna Karenina”, then shows how to do three yummy banana dessert recipes their kids will surely love. Then Camille and Suzi do a speedball workout with a fitness instructor to show how you can get rid of unwanted fats in your tummy. All these in “Mars” at 6 PM, Monday to Friday on GMA News Channel 11.
