To allay the fears of people who care for her, KC twitted that she was not at her home when the explosion happened. She was then rehearsing for a number at ABS-CBN. Besides, her unit is very far from where the blast happened. It’s “in a whole different part of the compound”, she added. She no longer went home that night and just checked in at a hotel just to make sure she’s safe. She is waiting for the results of the investigation to be made public before she returns.
KC just had a successful series of concerts with her mom in the States. She’s now home to resume taping for her new soap with Judy Ann Santos at ABS-CBN, “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala”. This is a turning point in her career as she will play a villain role for the first time. In the story, she knows Sam Milby, a very rich guy, is already married to Juday, a poor provinciana, and they have a kid, but this does not stop her from snatching Juday away from Sam.
“It’s a big challenge to do dramatic confrontation scenes with the Queen of Pinoy Soap kasi ang galing-galing niya,” she says. “But I consider her my Ate and she was very helpful in supporting me do my role well. Hiyang-hiya ako when I was supposed to slap her. Hindi ko malakasan, but she was very encouraging para magawa ko lahat ng scenes ko with her nang tama. I’m sure magagalit sa’kin ang fans niya dahil aapihin namin siya nang husto. But this is just a career move for me. I want to show that I can do other kinds of roles naman.”
