Krystal Reyes Considers It A Challenge To Reprise Antoinette Taus' Role In 'Anna Karenina'

KRYSTAL REYES started as a child actress in “Bakekang” in 2006 when she was 10 years old. She was then using her real name Jolina Marie, but she was playing the role of Krystal, Bakekang’s pretty daughter, and that eventually became her screen name. She got her big break playing the title role in “Mga Mata ni Angelita”.

She later appeared in “La Vendetta”, “Rosalinda”, “La Lola”, “Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin” and “Munting Heredera”. She was a mainstay in the afternoon soap, “Bukod Kang Pinagpala”, when she was suddenly pulled out. She was surprised, thinking she’s gonna be jobless, but got an even bigger surprise when informed she’d play the role originally played by Antoinette Taus in “Anna Karenina”.

“Siempre po, tuwang-tuwa ako,” she says. “Hindi ko akalaing isa ako sa mga bida sa isang primetime show at kasama ko pa sina Barbie at Joyce. I like my role as Anna, simple and very loving sa nagpalaki sa kanya. Marunong tumanaw ng utang na loob.”

How does she feel being paired with Julian Trono as Brix? “Okay naman po. Mabait naman siya. One year older pa nga ako kasi 16 na ako, 15 lang siya.”

What if Julian would really woo her in real life? “Ay, ang babata pa po namin. Trabaho lang po ito. Wala munang ligawan. Pero sana, magustuhan ng viewers ang tambalan namin.”
