“Hindi naman away yun,” she says. “Tampo lang yun. Misunderstanding. Malaki ang utang na loob ko sa Regal at alam akong mahal niya ako. Matagal na kasi kaming hindi nagkikita’t nagkakausap. Bababain ko lang siya mamaya at lalandiin ko, okay na kami.”
It’s said Mother Lily is sore at her because she refused the Metro filmfest entry with Judy Ann Santos that Regal is offering her. “Wala akong tinatanggihan. May two films pa ko sa contract ko with Regal. Pero hindi lang ako yung tango ng tango. Gusto ko lang, yung pinagpaplanuhan muna nang maayos, para maganda. Hindi ko tinanggihan si Judy Ann Santos. Excited nga akong makatrabaho siya dahil napakagaling niyang artista. It’s an honor.”
Judy Ann Santos’ manager, Alfie Lorenzo, said something about the issue. “Ang totoo, si Juday ang tumanggi kasi walang script. Ikukuwento na lang daw. E, ang gusto kasi niya, mabasa muna yung buong script. E, wala namang maibigay na script si Roselle Monteverde at si Jun Lana. Kaya nangyari ito, para may issue na mapag-uusapan. Kasi kung kay Richard (Gutierrez), anong pag-uusapan? Buntis ba si Sarah Lahbati? Nanganak na ba?”
“At least po, ayan, ngayon malinaw na,” says Marian. “Wala akong kasalanan. Salamat po, Tito Alfie. Nakakahiya nga kay Juday, ‘Lady Boss’ presscon ito, nakasama pa siya.”
Going back to ‘My Lady Boss’, what’s the real reason why its playdate was postponed from April 10 to July 3? Did they really get scared of the John Lloyd Cruz-Sarah Geronimo movie? It was “My Lady Boss” director Jade Castro who answered the question.
“Hindi, hindi dahil doon,” he says. “Kung natakot man kami, it’s with ‘Iron Man 3’. GMA Films and Regal both decided to postpone the playdate kasi hindi pa kami tapos. Even the trailer, hindi na-edit ng maayos. So we’re glad we were given more time para mas mapaganda ang trailer and the entire movie itself. Mas na-edit nang maganda. We’re now very proud of the movie. Viewers will enjoy it and find it very entertaining. Maraming scenes na nakakakilig at nakakatawa as it’s a romantic comedy.”
At this point, Mother Lily enters the function room at Imperial Palace Suites where the presscon was being held. Marian quickly left her seat at the presidential table to hug and kiss the Regal matriarch, who hugs and kisses her back. All the photographers and cameraman swarmed around them to capture their reconciliation. Well, as they say, all’s well that ends well and this augurs well for the box office success of “My Lady Boss”. No more negative vibes whatsoever.
