Model Luke Jickain Now Seriously Pursuing An Acting Career

LUKE JICKAIN is better known as a ramp model. He has tried acting before in ABS-CBN soaps like “Marina”, “Maria la del Barrio” and “Imortal”. “But on and off ako noon kasi tinatapos ko pa ang pag-aaral ko,” he says. “After I graduated from my marketing course in San Beda, which was my gift to my parents, I went to New York to study acting in Manhattan. Kasi acting naman talaga ang gusto ko, but I don’t want to get into it na wala akong preparation. Suwerte naman, kinuha ako ng TV5 to be part of ‘Boracay Bodies’ and now, sinama naman ako in their new mini-series, ‘Misibis Bay’, where I play the lifeguard and manager of the resort.”

We tell him he’s a late bloomer since he’s already 28. “I know. But in showbiz, it’s also a matter of good timing. Also, I’m willing to do villain and character roles naman so I can use what I learned from acting school.”

He’s challenged by his role in “Misibis Bay” as he’ll be the lover of Vivian Velez, the scheming sister of Christopher de Leon who owns the resort. “I’ll admit I’m intimidated kasi she’s a good actress at matagal na siya sa industry. Nagkasama kami noon sa ‘Imortal’ but we never had a scene together. I really admire kasi, tingnan mo naman, hanggang ngayon Body Beautiful pa rin. Hot pa rin. It’s really an honor to be working with her.”

Luke is the brother of Martin Jickain, the ex-hubby of Aiko Melendez. “One year older lang siya sa’kin. He’s now working as the chef of a place called Station Juan Cafe in Boracay. When I was there for ‘Boracay Bodies’, he treated us to free dinner. He and Aiko are now good friends. Malaki na yung daughter nila.”
