GMA NETWORK has a presscon everyday for the numerous new shows they’re launching, the latest of which is “One Day Isang Araw”, a kiddie show about the power of imagination that presents stories good for both grownups and kids alike. Hosted by four precocious and talented kids (Milkah Nacion as Isang, Marc Justine Alvarez as Sunny, Joshua Uy as Uno and Jillian Ward as Daisy), they exchange stories while hanging out in their favorite treehouse.
At the presscon, it was Joshua, a natural scene stealer, who shone during the Q&A as he keeps on getting the mike and comes up with the wittiest answers. To think he’s the newcomer among them since he hasn’t appeared in any TV show yet, unlike the others who have all done teleseryes. When they were asked why they want to be an “artista”, he’s the one with the most unique answer: “Gusto ko mag-artista para magpatayo po ako ng foundation, may ospital at magbibigay ng pagkain.”
When Jillian was requested to sing, she did the very adult song “And I Am Telling You” from “Dreamgirls”. Joshua then went in front of the presidential table and started doing an interpretative dance, much to the delight of the press people around. Before his dance ended, he even took off his necktie and threw it to the audience.
When asked why he danced, his reply was: “Parang videoke po, habang may kumakanta, may sumasayaw rin.”
He said Jillian is his crush and he‘ll court her when they grow up. What can Jillian say about this? “Wala po. Natatawa lang ako. Di muna kami dapat mag-isip ng ganun.”
And Joshua said: “Dedma? O sige, punta muna kong abroad.”
We can’t blame Joshua for liking Jillian as she’s really getting prettier by the day. And also smarter. You can see she’ll be a future superstar someday. When asked if she knows who Charice is, she said yes. What can she say about Charice admitting she’s a tomboy? “Ay, huwag naman pong ganun ka-serious.”
The show is written by Sennedy Que who did “Wansapanataym” for ABS-CBN before. What’s the difference of “One Day Isang Araw”? “Dito, bawat bata may kanya-kanyang continuing story,” he says. “But in each episode, meron din silang binubuong sariling kuwento about a wide array of themes that will provide viewers with awesome and colorful stories that offer good and meaningful values for everyone.”
The show will start on June 15, 6 PM on GMA’s Sabado Star Power sa Gabi Block.
