Someone asked him if he’s really quitting showbiz to study filmmaking so he can be with Sarah Lahbati. “Buti pa kayo, alam nyo. Ako hindi. I plan to go to school but I don’t know yet where. Let’s not talk about my personal life. Kung may tanong kayo about this, I will answer later. But as of now, let’s focus on ‘My Lady Boss’ kasi presscon ito ng movie namin which opens on July 3. Sa Sunday (today), he have a mall promo sa SM Bacoor at 5 PM so we invite all our fans to meet us there.”
Later on, Richard admitted that he plans to study filmmaking but not abroad. “May Big Foot International Academy of Films in Cebu at maraming foreigners na doon nag-aaral. My brother Ritchie Paul studied there and he says maganda ang facilities nila, so after ‘My Lady Boss’ is shown, balak kong mag-inquire doon.”
So it’s true he’s not renewing his contract with GMA-7. “I still have a contract with GMA Films for two more movies. But sa TV, I’ve been with them for 11 years at lahat, nagawa ko na, nag-soap ako, nag-sitcom, nag-host ng ‘Survivor’ at environmental documentaries. Lahat ng oras ko, I dedicated to my work, so I think it’s the right time for me to unwind, take a vacation, a long break. I just want to step back and see where I want to go from here.”
He just came from Switzerland to visit Sarah. “I came back because I have a commitment to promote ‘My Lady Boss’. As for Sarah, she is doing well and she will come back soon. Haharapin niyang lahat ang mga intriga. So, abangan n'yo na lang kung kailan siya babalik. But I guarantee you, she will come back soon and she will answer all the questions for you, guys. She’s also ready to face the cases filed by GMA against her.”
He’s confident moviegoers will enjoy “My Lady Boss”. “Matagal na kaming hindi nagkasama ni Marian since ‘My Best Friend’s Girl Friend’ which was a big hit. Mas masaya ang pelikulang ito kaysa roon and Marian is really good in her role as my masungit na boss who later falls for me. Kami mismo, tawa nang tawa sa maraming eksenang ginawa namin sa movie.”
